The Museum of innocence Chocolate Wrappers

The Museum of innocence Chocolate Wrappers

The gut-wrenching love story inspired this series of chocolate packaging in Orhan Pamuk’s Museum of Innocence. The wrappers were designed to emulate the passionate and sensual relationship between the main characters, Kemal and Füsun. Kemal is madly in love with Füsun and worships the objects she possesses and touches. The chocolate wrappers, which act as “aphrodisiacs,” are designed to show the absence of the objects stolen by Kemal. The outline of each object is a die cut in the packaging, which reveals the aluminum foil. The imagery is a collage of photos taken in Istanbul and in the actual Museum of Innocence in the neighborhood of Çukurcuma. The hollowed-out objects on the front inspire the literature, and the information on the back is based on extracts from the novel.
